To CT or Not CT: A Relevant Question in My Life

This post deviates slightly from the blog's theme of life cycle musings. I decided to share my findings, however, because they're interesting--and human health related. The motivation for digging comes from my recent inundation into the reality of the American health care system. More specifically, my parents have hit a sudden spell of health challenges.

A reoccurring theme from neurosurgeons and oncologists we visit is radioactive diagnostic tools, such as computed tomography (CT).

Soda: Tax or Cap-and-Trade?

In the beginning of 2009, New York's Governor Paterson injected a novel proposal into America's health care climate. Put simply, he suggested the following:

Problem: America's obese.

Solution: Tax soda.
